From the foundations to the French garden-styled landscaping, not a single detail has been overlooked, not a bit of quality sacrificed, in the quest to create the most remarkable estate on the continent.
This is a residence for the ultimate connoisseur, for the individual for whom only the uncompromised best will do.
Throughout Villa Taj, the remarkable use of the finest stone and marble defines the opulent tone of this home. Over 160 tons of imported Gold Jerusalem stone have been used both inside and outside of this majestic residence.
Over 1,000 pieces of hand carved stone used throughout, each piece weighing 95 lbs. The installation of this highly detailed stonework took over two years of work to complete and install.
Spectacular antique, or custom-designed doors provide entry to each of the bedrooms and living areas. The owner personally selected these doors during his travels around the globe, from locales including Morocco, Algeria and Mexico. Each features unique inlays and detailing, with many originally found in palaces.
The commanding main entry double doors are each 10 feet by 8 feet in size, and weigh over 4,000 pounds.
The doors that exit both the Grand Kitchen and Family Entertainment Room are 100-year old antique doors, crafted from sterling silver, with inlaid detailing.
Villa Taj features nine fireplaces, each of a unique and singular design. These are located in the Formal Living Room, Conservatory, Family Entertainment Room, and each of the six Bedroom Suites.
Beneath the Main Dual Staircase at the front entry of Villa Taj are two stunning Powder Rooms, unlike any you have ever seen. The rooms are completely finished with over 4,200 square feet of Pineapple Onyx from Mexico, with Italian marble accents.
Befitting the lifestyle of the owner of this residence, it has been designed with discrete service areas. Once such area is located between the Grand Kitchen and Ballroom, and features a full wet bar, refrigerator, icemaker and accommodations for catering setup. As well, a separate catering service entrance accesses the Kitchen.
On the lower level, a full Service Quarters is located, for live-in help.
Initial landscaping of Villa Taj has recently been completed, which includes the planting of over 600 trees, designed to provide both privacy and ambiance. Spruce trees are located around the perimeter, while lower-lying topiary-style greenery and bushes are located in the more central parts, designed to provide an open feel to the estate gardens. There is a fully finished irrigation system installed for maintaining the gardens in impeccable condition.
Visible from the Conservatory is a terraced area, planted in all green, designed to replicate a French garden. Exiting the Ballroom is a stone-floored patio with outdoor fire pit.
The estate will facilitate, and has planned, the addition of a swimming pool and adjacent Pool Pavilion, just behind the residence.
The estate features an elevator, servicing all three levels.
